Wendover!!

This past weekend we went to Wendover because I'm finally 21! We wanted to go down to Vegas but just didn't have the time so we took a one nighter and gambled in Wendover instead. It was so much fun!!! Well... for the most part! I started out playing BlackJack because it's an easy game and all I've ever heard is for the most part, you can win some money, or at least stay even. WRONG!! I lost $75 pretty quick after going to three different tables too! I was about ready to cry because I've never lost so much money so quickly. So we decided to switch up games to Progressive Hold 'Em which I had seen some of JC's friends play a little bit. It is my new favorite game! We ended up breaking even playing that but it was so much fun! It's just poker, but all you have to do is beat the dealer. No strategy of betting or anything... definitely my kind of game! After a while, I let JC go play some poker because I know how much he loves to. It was fun just watching him get in the mood and play, plus all the drunk people at the table were pretty funny too! Finally, around 4:00 am we called it a night $100 ahead of what we started so instead of driving home, we used that money to get us a hotel room. All in all, it was a great "first experience" but I'm never playing BlackJack again!!

Busy Busy!!

It has been a super busy past couple of months but it was definitely a lot of fun!!

Every year my old coach Kelly takes the seven seniors that graduated together out to dinner. It has become a tradition that we all look forward to now that we are all going to different schools and have started our new lives. It was so fun to see all the girls and be with him!

For my nephew Jacob's birthday, we all surprised him down in Vegas with his best friend Marques and his two cousins Savy and Kara. It was so fun to hang out with them and be there for his birthday. He is such a cutie! The kids went to Circus Circus and then just swam and swam and swam! It was a fun weekend!

JC and I stayed in Vegas for the rest of the week and spent a lot of time with his family. We went to Mini Grand Prix with his sister Ashlee and her kids. It was so much fun! The kids loved racing the cars and riding the rides. We even tried the "big kid" cars. They were pretty intense! JC killed me! HAHA

Then, one night, Ashlee got a hotel at the MGM so we went to the pool to hang out. It was a pretty fun pool with the lazy river, but there were some SKETCHY people there, that's for sure! But, we had fun swimming with the kids and hanging out downtown.

The week before school my basketball team took our team retreat down to Lake Powell. It's always a good time! We spend all day in the sun and all night talking. We definitely all came back with a great tan! :)

Now we are both in school and doing our things. JC is the baseball manager which is so great because he got a scholarship for it...free school!! Other than that, he's just going to school. As for me, I'm doing the school thing and working out TONS!! It's pretty rough but the girls make it worth it. We moved into our new place just a few minutes from the school. It's really nice and we are loving having our own place!

Honeymoon!!

For our honeymoon, we went to Hawaii. It was so awesome!! He stayed in a SUPER nice hotel that had their own private little beach. It was so nice to just relax, enjoy the sun and enjoy each other!! Our hotel room was on the 15th floor and we had two balconies overlooking the WHOLE ocean. It was the perfect getaway!!

This is a picture of our hotel I took from the beach

This was the sunset the first night we were there... isn't it incredible?!

This was the view from our balcony

The private beach we had at the hotel. There was never more than 40 people there..

It was great!!

The last day we were there we rented a car and went down to the big city of Waikiki. It was fun to see, but I'm glad we stayed away from the tourism while we were there. We went to the U.S.S. Arizona which was incredible. It was JC's first time there too. The whole atmosphere there is just amazing. Then we went to the International Market and did some shopping of course! We also went to an indoor shooting range. It was my first time and I was scared out of my mind!! Some of those guns are so powerful!! JC had shot most of the guns before but he still had a lot of fun too. I'm getting more and more used to the gun idea... but we'll see how I feel once we have kids!

Overall, it was a great honeymoon!! A little expensive, but that is to be expected in Hawaii. The place we stayed at was gorgeous and we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Family Reunion

Every three years over the 24th of July, JC's family on his Dad's side has a big family reunion in Panaca, Nevada. Never heard of it??? Ya, me either!! You take the Cedar City exit and then head west...and west...and west... a little over an hour. Just follow the road through super small towns until you pass the border and come into Panaca. The town is super super small. No stop lights, McDonalds or movie theatre. However, it was such a fun time!! JC and I stayed at a little Bed&Breakfast because there was no room at his Grandma's house. It was soo fun! My first experience, but definitely won't be my last! I finally got to meet all the rest of the cousins from that side, since they are from Texas, Nebraska and Reno. We had a great time eating lots, riding four wheelers, taking pictures, making sling shots, eating some more, dynamite, a parade and playing in the 3-on-3 tournament. You would think with such a small town it would be a dinky little tournament. I'm a basketball player and I was thoroughly suprised at the talent of some of these guys. No one takes this tournament lightly. Our team was JC and I, his brother Jordan and then his sister's boyfriend Brock. We ended up taking fourth but some of the guys we played against we big, strong and athletic. It was a lot of fun though playing with the big boys ;) All in all, it was a great reunion just hanging out with the whole family!!

This is Panaca from one of the mountains we rode too... see how tiny??

JC and I on the four-wheelers. JC was on the Raptor, the sexy one haha but only because I don't know how to drive a manual haha they were both a lot of fun though!! There were some dunes that we were able to ride on and also a lot of mountain trails. Plus, we rode them throughout the whole town. How sweet would that be to just have a four-wheeler that you drive everywhere---who needs a car!!

JC's grandparents

Megan's grandparents...

My Grandpa Marks wasn't able to make it to the ceremony physically, but we all could feel his spirit there. He passed away the next day, but we know that he was very happy for us and we're grateful that Grandma could be there. We miss him very much but we know that he is so much happier where he is!! Love you Grandpa

Raw fish??

I just decided that sushi is my new favorite food! I was never really a big fan because just the thought of eating raw fish totally grossed me out!! But, with the help of my husband, I got suckered in to trying his favorite food, sushi. My first time was a few months ago and I wasn't too impressed... however, we just had it again for lunch today and WOW!! I think I found a new love! I am still unfamiliar with what types I like, what fillings are good, what sauces are the best with which fish, etc. But what I do know is that I seriously LOVE sushi! Call me crazy but the Japanese know what they are doing with their raw fish...
